| How can meat stores proactively influence consumers to adopt a healthy nutrition where the food fare also includes meat and fat? |
| In a declining market where price competition gets tougher and where displacement results in either more sales or higher value-added creation, only those will survive who meet these shopper expectations: |
- offering better value for money than the competition,
- offering distinctly better quality, plus
- offering a better assorted product range than the competition;
- offering unique product advantages that bring end users more benefits;
- offering an attractive shopping atmosphere with great displays and taste;
- offering more convenience; and
- offering a better performing customer service
(incl. competent consulting / information / how-to-prepare recommendations). |
Identifying opportunities! |
| Put customer service and over-the-counter consulting to good use. For that to materialize, information is the best approach. So chance-savvy businesses make sure that their own people stay continually informed, and that such an information exchange is also extended to so-called opinion leaders, such as school teachers, kindergarten educators/caretakers, physicians, and other locals fitting that category. |

So why not utilize a meat and food expert's popularity? |
| Like that of Dr. Nicolai Worm. In his book "Täglich Fleisch" (translate that to "Meat Every Day") he has already expounded his conviction that meat neither makes you sick nor fat, that it makes good biological sense while, at the same time, supplying the human body with highly valuable protein, with essential vitamins plus plenty of iron, zinc and other necessary minerals. |
| |
| In his most recent book "Glücklich und schlank - Mit viel Eiweiß und dem richtigen Fett" (which translates to: "Being Slim and Feeling Good - with lots of protein and the right type of fat") Dr. Worm makes a convincing case of how to stay on healthy nutrition and still lose weight-without going on a diet. His new "LOGI" nutrition pyramid, as already discussed and presented in our HAGESÜD POST house publication No. 73, is now being republished and touted as the most recent finding in many trade journals serving the field. The most salient point being that a meat-based food fare has advanced to the no. 2 spot on the healthy nutrition ranking scale. |

Our Recommendation: |
 | Glücklich und schlank - Mit viel Eiweiß und dem richtigen Fett The "LOGI"-Method in theory and in the kitchen; 176 pages (available in German only), with many pictures and photographs, incl. CD-ROM and recipes; paperback with fold-out flaps. | Dr. Nicolai Worm, Nutritionist and author of numerous scientific papers and special publications, including his book "Diätlos glücklich"("Happy without a diet"), "Täglich Wein"("Wine every day") or "Nie wieder Diät"("Never again on a diet")* *(all books available in German only). | | Thanks to his numerous appearances in radio and TV shows, he is also widely recognized by a broad-based audience of public and private broadcasting stations. | | |
| |
| If some of your customers are familiar with German, we strongly recommend that you offer Dr. Worm's book on meat every day over your counter, to shoppers taking a critical interest in this particular matter. The book is written for a broad-based audience and it's fun to read, easy to understand, interspersed with humor and full of concrete hints and tips for a full-value food fare making for an all-around healthy nutrition schedule. |
